On March 13, 2023, the Elyria Township Board of Trustees adopted Resolution No. 031323-01 prohibiting the parking of semi-truck vehicles on township roads, streets, and highways within the unincorporated areas of Elyria Township. The resolution was enacted to address traffic and roadway safety concerns and applies to commercial tractor units, semitrailers, and related combinations, except when actively loading or unloading or performing same-day service. Violations are classified as a minor misdemeanor offense, with fines deposited into the Township’s general fund.
